EMERGENCY SERVICES
UAV technology is rapidly becoming a valued tool in the emergency services field. Using our fleet equipped with the latest in leading edge technology (including thermal cameras), we can accomplish mission critical emergency tasks more efficiently at a lower cost and in most cases more safely than conventional methods. We have developed systems and processes for use in the following areas;
SEARCH AND RESCUE
SERIOUS CRASH INVESTIGATION
FIRE
CRIMINAL SURVEILLANCE
WATER RESCUE
It is becoming increasingly apparent that including drones in the toolkit for both police and emergency services is essential. In particular, thermal imaging drones can prove invaluable when deployed to:
-
Help find people (search and rescue missions)
-
Better fight fires
-
Reduce poaching
-
Reconstruct and examine car accident scenes
-
Assess damage from floods and other disasters and assist in high-risk and hazardous materials situations.
Having an aerial perspective can also help gain critical situational awareness while maintaining a safe standoff distance. Our fleet equipped with thermal imaging capabilities can provide critical monitoring of any high-risk situation where decisions need to be made quickly and can remain on-station to stream live multicast video to personnel on the ground and command posts simultaneously.
Accurate and quick information is critical when a disaster happens. Using a drone for photogrammetry lets officials determine the damaged areas after a disaster such as an earthquake or flood. With this data, the officials will be able to distribute resources for an effective response. Our ability to shoot thermal and standard images simultaneously helps tremendously in this area, since we don’t have to make one flight to detect an anomaly with a thermal camera and then make another flight with an RGB or standard-vision camera to confirm the anomaly. And again, our thermal cameras allow us to search at night, through a canopy of trees or in fog, smoke and other low-vision situations. Drones can also reach impassable areas quickly.
Although the advantages of having this technology on hand is clearly apparent, many of these organisations that it would most greatly benefit have not invested in this resource as both the cost of acquiring and updating the equipment and the need for training and qualifications in order to effectively and legally utilise the equipment are too great.
The service we provide enables the emergency services and police the experience of a specialist pilot and the latest in thermal equipment on the state of the art drone that can be deployed on a moment’s notice with the highest-resolution imagery and instant-sharing capabilities that gives the best data in the shortest amount of time.
See the section on thermal imaging for more details on the many ways thermal cameras and drones can greatly assist in both emergency services and police operations.
